Stay in Shape During the Winter Season

Skiing, skating, and snowboarding are great activities that make you spend time with your friends and get a good workout at the same time. Even if you can go to a gym, it`s good to enjoy the benefits you get from winter sports.

There are three types of skiing: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and mogul skiing. The first type is very popular because it`s one of the best cardio exercises and helps you burn almost 650 calories per hour. It may also improve your hamstring, quad, gluteal, and calf muscles.

Cross country skiing makes you burn up to 760 calories per hour, it offers you the same benefits as downhill skiing, and builds your abdominal muscles, triceps, and biceps. Mogul skiing is probably the most difficult form of skiing but it`s the best for burning calories. It burns almost 870 calories per hour and works other muscles such as chest, gluteal, abdominal, and hip flexor muscles.

Another popular winter sport is snowboarding. This sport allows you to work on your calves, hamstrings, quads, or abdominal muscles. An hour of snowboard makes you burn about 550 calories.

Speed skating is probably the best workout for your body because it builds different muscles, even if it seems difficult to get started. Speed skating builds your abdominal muscles, biceps, triceps, quads, hip abductors, and gluteus. It also helps with endurance, balance, coordination, and strength. If you practice speed skating for an hour, you may burn up to 760 calories.
